A new material for the new craftsman

Audrey Werthle’s technical research was prompted by her double fascination for patterns and plastics. Pairing the design down to the simplest of patterns, the repeating vertical line, she combined silicone and screenprinting to create a sturdy material with a 3D relief. In search of a contemporary application, she noticed a surge in recognition for craftsmen. Wearing an apron today is close to making a statement of authenticity, as opposed to mass production and lack of identity. In recognition, she used her material for a new-style craftsman’s apron: CRAFT THE SILICONE.
