Earthquake series - 2019 -

glazed and raw earthenware

When I started working with slip clay and molding, I was dominated by the material.

Then I began to be more sensitive to the material and the technique, the tiny parameters that influences the final shape, temperature, timing...

So I could manipulate the clay and to orient it towards a result.

It's the search for the controlled accident.

Geology strata, erosion, natural constructions and their artificial versions , « formwork », fascinate me.

I use my atelier as a laboratory where I imagine processes to mimic the effects of time on earth.

From the same mold several unique pieces can come out.
